One of the main reasons customers give Window World of Little Rock a call is to make their homes more energy-efficient. Most homeowners don’t realize that outdated windows are probably causing a rise in their electric bills. You will see a 30% or better reduction in your heating and cooling costs just by replacing outdated windows with low-E glass energy-efficient windows. We’ve been telling people this since we opened our doors back in 2004, and we’ve never had anyone call back and say they didn’t get that kind of savings.
Maybe you’re wondering what the long-term benefits are of replacing your windows. According to the NOAA, the global surface temperature of the earth is projected to increase by 0.9०F by 2020, which is higher than the last 30-year average. Since windows are accountable for 25-30% of heating and cooling energy, the hard reality is that it’s going to cost more to keep your home cool in the future. Installing energy-efficient windows will help reduce that cost significantly. It’s one of the best long-term investments you can make in your home.

What are Energy Efficient Windows?
If you’re in the market for energy-efficient windows, make sure they include three core components: a warm-edge spacer system, low-E glass, and argon gas fills. Together they can increase energy efficiency by 35%.
Warm-Edge Spacer System
A window’s spacer system, or the component that separates glass layers, is remarkably impactful on the energy efficiency of the entire unit, boosting performance by 5%. The traditional box-shaped spacer system can increase heat loss, and cause condensation to form on the edge of the glass.
Window World’s warm-edge spacer is designed to block the path of escaping heat far more effectively. This means it reduces condensation on winter glass. Non-conducive edges eliminate any glass-to-metal contact and contribute to a reduction of edge-of-glass temperatures. Featuring a unique U-channel design, these spacers are far more effective than their dated predecessors.
Low-E Glass
SolarZone Low-E Glass is created by applying a microscopic, undetectable metallic coating to the second surface of an insulating glass unit. Its intelligent design blocks heat gain from the sun’s reflected rays in the summer but allows warmth from shorter solar rays into the house during the cold winter months. The result? Studies prove that Low-E glass enhances your energy performance by up to 24% annually.
Argon (Non-Toxic) Gas Fills
Our SolarZone Glass Packages leave no detail to chance. The space between the glass lites, historically just dead air, is filled with argon gas. Argon is a colorless, odorless, non-reactive gas. It’s the third most prevalent gas in our atmosphere. Because of its extremely low thermal conductivity and high density (38% denser than air at 1.78 grams/liter at STP), it makes an ideal insulating agent, increasing efficiency by 6%.
How Siding Helps
We’ve covered energy-efficient windows, so now let’s talk about siding. Siding is a vinyl product, which means it doesn’t transfer temperature. If you’re investing in new siding, the exterior insulation has to be replaced first. Exterior insulation acts as a buffer, keeping cool air in during the summer months and retaining hot air in the winter. Once this is replaced, new siding is installed over the insulation, shielding and protecting it from outside elements.
Siding is one of the best investments you can make in your home. It not only pays for itself over time but also increases the resale value of your home.
Energy Efficient Windows Tax Credit
If you invest in energy-efficient windows, you may qualify for the Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC). The Investment Tax Credit (ITC) offers a 30% federal tax credit for commercial and residential solar energy property owners. In 2015, Congress passed an extension to the ITC that lasts until 2022.

Our Story
In November of 2004, we opened our doors at Window World of Little Rock with one purpose, and that purpose is to provide high-quality replacement windows at the lowest price possible. I found out about Window World through a really good friend of mine. He and his wife opened the Window World franchise in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and I was in the aviation business at the time as the director of sales and marketing for an FAA repair station. My friend worked for me at the time and left to do other things with his life – and found Window World.
After 9/11 happened, the aviation community was shaken up pretty well. My friend gave me a call and said, “Hey, did you ever think about maybe getting into the home improvement business? I have a franchise called Window World in Tulsa. Would you like to come to check it out?” I did a lot of research on selling windows, and when I saw how Window World did business and their business model, it just made so much sense. It’s the best thing I ever did in my life.

As a family-owned business, we’ve been lucky to grow over the years and will continue to grow as my daughter Jodie takes over the business. My daughter Jodie was riding with me, selling windows since she was 9 years old. She’s been around this business for a long time and has seen it grow. When she was little, I would pay her with McDonald’s fries and a large Coke. She was always right there beside me. The time she spent working with me helped her to see the impact that new replacement windows have on our customers’ lives and the improvement of their homes. Now that she’s older, she has the opportunity to take it over and help our customers just as we’ve been doing for the past 15 years.
We want to thank all of our customers in central Arkansas for letting us serve you for 15 great years. We will continue to provide the same service that you have always known for many years to come! If you’ve recently worked with us, thank you for your time, and thank you for trusting us to get the job done. If you’re looking for a quote on replacement windows or siding for your home, we hope you’ll give us a call. We’ll always be happy to provide you with a free estimate at your convenience.
