We all love the view of the outdoors that windows allow! But with more glass comes more exposure to temperature fluctuations. Window World’s energy-efficient windows specialize in regulating the temperature indoors and helping you save money on your energy costs.
Our Low-E glass windows block heat gain from the sun’s reflected rays in the summer and allow warmth from shorter solar rays into the house during the cold winter months.
Watch as Bill explains how our Low-E glass works and how our windows can help you save money on utility bills!
This mechanism shows you Low-E glass or low-emissivity glass. In this box, we have four different types of glass: single pane glass, double pane insulated glass, and two different types of Low-E or low-emissivity glass. This radiometer measures radiant heat. With the Low-E glass with Argon gas, Bill turns on the 250-watt heat lamp and puts the radiometer right up to the glass. It actually started moving backward!
If there was radiant heat coming through the glass, it would make that radiometer spin. But with Low-E glass, it’s just barely moving. With clear insulated glass, when you put the radiometer up to the glass you’ll watch it start to spin. This shows that radiant heat is coming through the glass, and ultimately into your home. Glass is a conductor of heat and cold.
This is what our energy-efficient Low-E glass can do for you! It will change everything in your home. These windows will keep you warm in the winter, and cool in the summer. They will even lower your operating costs by at least 30%!
